Check-in: June 18th, 2026

Tuesday was my birthday, which I’m going to use an excuse for the late check-in this week. It’s not true, I didn’t do anything special. What’s actually going on is I’m just kinda locked-in on a few things. Let’s have a quick check-in to explain.

Follow-ups: I haven’t been sticking perfectly to the new routine, but even so, I’d say it’s helping. Just having a basic plan for what to work on each day is extremely helpful. I’m most of the way through this week. At this point in most weeks, I start getting a sort of ambient feeling of being overwhelmed, I think because there’s always so much to do that even when I get a lot done, it can feel like I’ve done nothing. So far, I know there are things that I won’t get to this week, but I don’t feel terrible about them, because I’ve been getting stuff done all week. I’ve also been able to prioritize and then stick to those priorities a little better. So I’m pretty happy about all of that jazz.

The normal stuff: There have been changes, but nothing pressing, and I’d rather wait until next week. Maybe everything resets to normal, maybe not, I don’t know yet. I’ve had some really good exercise sessions and I’ve been getting in the nutrition, which means it’s possible I’ll actually gain weight. But it should be lean mass, which is nice on its own, but should also help me in the future. So here’s to hoping.

Next Time: We’ll see, probably follow up on all of this, right? One lack – not enough music practice. That’s not the routine’s fault, though, I’ve just been really head-down on a few other priorities and I haven’t quite worked out the kinks on that particular part of the schedule. But even there, I’ve gotten in more practice than most weeks. So that’s still a win.
